Client Rights & Records
At Sunrise Counseling Dallas, we believe clients should have clear information about their rights and how to access their mental health records. The information below is provided in accordance with Texas Health & Safety Code Chapter 181.
Requesting Your Mental Health Records
You have the right to request a copy of your mental health records.
To request your records, please submit a written request using one of the following methods:

Mail
Under Texas Health & Safety Code §611.008(a), your provider will respond to your written request within 15 days as required by Texas law.
If you have questions about obtaining your records, please contact our office and we will be happy to assist you.
Questions About a Licensed Mental Health Professional
If you have questions regarding a licensed mental health professional or would like to file a complaint, you may contact the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC).

Filing a Consumer Complaint
